Vegetable tanned leather is defined as full grain par excellence because the hide of the animal is not worked. You can see at bare eye all the history of the animal, all its life and that’s why this is the perfect material to express craftmanship in vintage, casual or sporty belts collections.

These characteristics are highlighted by the type of tanning, in this case vegetable tanning; we already said vegetable tanning was the only system until 1800 A.C. and this is such an interesting fact to insert in the storytelling of your brand.

Obviously in the leather world the possibilities and the different styles of leather you can create are nearly endless; but I’ve decided to show you a little selection of the best materials the best tannery of Santa Croce sull’Arno, in Tuscany, had created for me:

1. PRIMUS

This is a full grain leather vegetable tanned with oils and waxes that give the material a very light pull-up effect. It is so natural you can see at bare eye the veins and the little scars which testifies the life of the animal.

2. JOSHUA

As Primus, also Joshua is a full grain vegetable tanned leather completely natural; the only difference with the other material is that Joshua is worked inside big machineries, called bottali, to bring out the surface grain of the hide.

3. KREST

Another type of processing, always on a full grain vegetable tanned leather, is the one of Krest; the leather is studded, a process with which special machinery gave the material a three-dimensional effect, like small crests.

4. MOGWAY

Another kind of plissé material is Mogway; in this case the leather is plissé horizontally and this processing gives the material a very light pull-up effect.

5. EXCALIBUR

Excalibur has the same base as Mogway, but with an additional screen-printing that gives it a wood like effect; it is a brand-new material and it is perfect for belts with craftmanship soul.

6. LINES

The last material I selected for you is Lines: it is an embossed leather with horizontal lines with an engraved effect. In the past this effect was made engraving the leather, but in the production, it gave defects.

As I told you at the beginning of the article, this is only a small selection.

Even if they are very excellent materials, if you want to give an extra unique touch to your brand we can develop a special material specially for you, based on the characteristics of your brand.

We can use a special Pantone, if you have one that is distinctive of your collection or create it with a particular characteristic: more meshed, smoother or with a unique effect or print.

And all without making you pay any surcharge; this thanks to the close relationships we have with the best tanneries in Santa Croce sull'Arno, in Tuscany.

Not only uniqueness, but also an almost infinite warranty on the material which you can give also to your client: leather, in fact, has an extraordinary resistance and last a whole life! This let you give your customer a warranty far beyond the legal limits.

If you want to see the pull-up effect of the materials "live", watch the last video we published on Youtube.

As always, if you need to clear your mind about your belt collection, write me on Whatsapp.
